What Is Invisalign?

Similar to braces, Invisalign is a cosmetic treatment that straightens teeth. However, it works comfortably and discreetly using clear aligners. Clear aligners are transparent trays, often made of a thermoplastic material that is removable and custom-made to each patient’s smile. These trays can be worn on both the bottom and top teeth or just for a single arch.

How long does Invisalign take?

Invisalign treatment is often shorter than traditional braces. Depending on the severity of your current misalignment and desired smile, treatment can take as little as six months to eighteen months. The quick treatment time is especially great for patients needing minor cosmetic fixes. During this time, your dentist will provide you with clear aligners to change every two to three weeks. It’s important to follow the intervals instructed to get the aligner before and after results desired. Wearing and caring for your Invisalign correctly can also keep your treatment time on track!

How much is Invisalign?

Invisalign cost is similar to braces but will also get based on whether or not if you have dental insurance. If anything, a patient can prepare to invest a few thousand dollars to achieve long-lasting results with clear aligner teeth straightening. At Cactus Point Dental, we’re insurance friendly and accept a variety of payments. To learn more about the cost, visit our financial page or contact our team to schedule a consultation!

Is Invisalign painful?

Invisalign is generally more comfortable than traditional braces. Some patients experience mild pressure or soreness for a few days when starting a new set of aligners, which is a sign the treatment is working. This discomfort is temporary and usually easy to manage. If you are experiencing significant discomfort after one week, please let us know, as we may want to take a look at your aligners.

Clear aligners should be cleaned daily using a soft toothbrush and clear, mild soap or aligner cleaner. Avoid using hot water, as it can warp the aligners. When not wearing them, store your aligners in their designated case to prevent damage or loss. Our team always provides detailed care instructions to keep your aligners clear, fresh, and effective throughout treatment.

If you lose or damage an aligner, contact our office as soon as possible. Depending on your treatment stage, we may recommend wearing a previous aligner, moving to the next set, or ordering a replacement. Acting quickly helps prevent treatment delays and keeps your Invisalign progress on track.

Many teens and adults are good candidates for Invisalign, including patients with mild to moderate crowding, spacing, or bite issues. The best way to know is to schedule a consultation with us. During your visit, we will evaluate your teeth, discuss your goals, and determine if Invisalign is the right solution for your smile!
